Above and Beyond!

In four short years of existence, the Mason Schools Foundation has impacted Mason City Schools by funding more than 70 grants, for a total of more than $130,000 given back to the schools.  Grants have been awarded at all grade levels and at all buildings.  Our grants cover the spectrum from building a problem-solving lab for gifted students, to implementing Kindles for Kids (Kindles for struggling readers and other students), to providing an interactive foreign language lab in the high school, to bringing specialized reading training from Columbia University to our Early Childhood teachers, to providing school supplies to financially disadvantaged students.  The Foundation exists to fund innovative and exciting programs today and in the future.

2012 Reading Challenge:  The Great Reading Race!

Mason Schools Foundation announces The Great Reading Race!  Winter 2012 will see our Kindergarten through 6th grade students race to the finish to be world-class champion readers.  Start your engines for the big race at Mason Intermediate and Mason Heights on January 27, and at Western Row and MECC on March 1.  Students have a chance to win prizes for reading and fundraising.  And if the students make it to the finish line and meet their reading goals, they'll see their principals compete in their own crazy race!  For more details, click on "EVENTS," above.
